The Word of Faith Group of Schools grew out of a vision from God. The vision first came to Archbishop Margaret E. Idahosa many years ago. It was made vividly to her that there was a great need to establish an institution where children can be spurred academically, trained spiritually and given freedom to express themselves creatively. The God of the vision made the provision by the instrumentality of Archbishop, Most Rev. Prof. B. A. Idahosa. His determination, total commitment and massive financial support translated the vision into reality, and a cynosure for all eyes. On the 23rd of January 1981 the dream crystallized and the Word of Faith Group of Schools took off. It began operational as a Nursery (preschool) Institution. As years rolled by, and as the ideas of the original vision expanded inevitably, together with increase in popularity, it became necessary to add the Primary School. Word of Faith Group of Schools (WOFGS) Aba campus was established on September 1996. The school started its Junior Secondary School on September 2002, by September 2005 Senior Secondary commenced. WOF presently operates two campuses. Campus 1, which only nursery and primary schools, is located at 39 Umuola Road, Ogbor-Hill Aba. Campus 2, which is located at Eze Ananaba Road, Umuokohia in Obingwa LGA, was established September 2007.
It comprises nursery, primary, junior secondary and senior secondary school. The school has gone on several excursions to places like the National War Museum Umuahia, 7up-bottling company Aba, Port Harcourt Zoo, Port Harcourt International Airport, Port Harcourt Sea Port, Port Harcourt Civic Centre, Imo State Airport, Coco Cola deport Owerri, Collage of Agriculture Umudike, Nigeria Post Office (NIPOST) Aba, NTA Aba and manufacturing companies. The school has also participated and performed well on many external competitions. On 26th February 2003, the school was used as centre for the State Common Entrance Examination for the first time. In 2008 the Junior Secondary School was approved as centre for Junior School Certificate Examination by the Ministry of Education Umuahia. Subsequently, in 2010 the Senior Secondary School was approved as centre for WAEC and NECO examinations. .
